About the Brake Rotor / Disc
Magura's MDR-C rotor in the large 220 mm size gives a 775 front brake the heat capacity a heavy mid-drive bike needs. Our catalog lists it as an e-bike optimized 6-bolt rotor, matching the front rotor size on the AM and AM Touring and a suitable replacement size for the MX front. Replace a rotor that is bent, scored deep enough to catch a fingernail, or worn below Magura's minimum thickness. Fit fresh pads at the same time.

Install notes
Remove the wheel and take out the rotor bolts in a star pattern. Clean the hub mounting face, fit the new rotor in the correct rotation direction, and tighten the bolts in a star pattern to Magura's torque spec. Fit new pads and bed them in. Keep oil and grease off the braking surface.
FAQ
Should I replace pads when I replace a rotor?
Yes. Old pads have bedded to the worn rotor surface and may be contaminated. Fitting new pads with a new rotor gives the best braking.
