Magura's 8.R Race is the race compound in the 8-series, built on a steel backing in the MDP 8 shape for four-piston MT calipers like the MT5 fitted to all three Bonnell 775 models. Magura aims it at riders who push their equipment to the limit in cross country or downhill and need outstanding braking performance. Each set has four pads, one caliper's worth, so a front and rear change needs two sets.

Install notes
Take the wheel out and remove the pad bolt to free the worn pads. Clean the caliper, push the pistons back with a plastic tool, and fit the four new pads with the bolt tightened to Magura's specification. A race compound needs a thorough bed-in, so make several controlled stops from moderate speed before you ride steep terrain.
