About the Brake Pads

The 9.S Sport puts Magura's organic Sport compound into the MDP 9 format, where the two pads sit on a one-piece connected backplate. It fits four-piston MT calipers including the MT5 on the Bonnell 775, and Magura marks it as e-bike optimized. It is an easy pad to live with for everyday trail riding. One set holds two pads for one caliper. Compare your current pads first, since MDP 9 differs from the four-pad MDP 8 layout.

Install notes

Remove the wheel and the pad retaining pin, then lift the old pad set out. Reset the pistons evenly with a plastic lever. The connected MDP 9 backplate drops in as one unit, so slide it in, refit the pin and secure it as Magura specifies. Pump the lever firm and bed the pads in with moderate stops.

Can I switch from Magura 8-series to 9-series pads on a 775?

Magura lists both MDP 8 and MDP 9 pads for its four-piston MT calipers, which the 775 uses. The 9-series uses a one-piece connected backplate with two pads instead of four separate pads, so the set and install look different. Compare with the listing photos before ordering.
