Sur-Ron LBX Brake Pads: Galfer E-Bike vs Pro (and What Doesn’t Fit 2025 / Ultra Bee)

Galfer E-Bike BFD426G1652 ($42.99) vs Pro BFD426G1554 ($44.99) for Sur-Ron Light Bee X. What does not fit 2025 LBX, Ultra Bee, Storm Bee, or MX4 Expert.

4 min read

The Sur-Ron Light Bee X stops on Tektro Auriga hydraulic calipers and mineral oil. That is the first filter on a pad order. DOT fluid does not belong in this system.

WiredWhips stocks two live Galfer compounds for that stock Light Bee caliper: the E-Bike pad, BFD426G1652, at $42.99 per caliper, and the Pro pad, BFD426G1554, at $44.99 per caliper. Both are sold per caliper. Front plus rear is $85.98 for E-Bike or $89.98 for Pro. OEM Tektro replacements are $23.99 front and $24.99 rear if you want the stock compound back on the bike.

This post covers those two Light Bee SKUs and the bikes they do not fit. It is not a second copy of the July 8 Galfer upgrade guide. Use that guide for the longer rotor path. Use this page when you are choosing E-Bike vs Pro for a Light Bee that still wears Tektro Auriga.

What BFD426 actually fits

BFD426 is the Tektro Auriga pad. On this catalog it fits pre-2025 Light Bee X, Light Bee S, Talaria Sting MX3, Sting R MX4, X3 (xXx), and E-Ride Pro SS 2.0. Light Bee S shares the Tektro Auriga mineral-oil caliper, the #420 chain, and the 19-inch front / 18-inch rear wheels with the Light Bee X, so the same two Galfer pad SKUs apply.

Sting MX3 and Sting R MX4 share that Tektro Auriga mineral-oil caliper with the Light Bee, so the same BFD426 pads apply. X3 (xXx) is belt-drive with a 17-inch rear wheel, but the Tektro pad shape is still BFD426. Do not take that as a tire or chain swap. The X3 model page is /brands/talaria/x3-xxx — /xxx and /x3 404.

What does not fit — 2025 Light Bee X, Ultra Bee, Storm Bee, Expert

2025 Light Bee X bikes use an updated front caliper. A BFD426 order for a 2025+ bike needs a year check. If you are not sure of the year, check the frame or the original invoice before you buy.

These two SKUs do not fit Ultra Bee. Ultra Bee uses Zoom calipers and a different system voltage. The live Ultra Bee Galfer pad is the Zoom pad at $46.99, Ultra only. This catalog does not list an Ultra Bee Zoom OEM number for that pad, and this post will not invent one.

They do not fit Storm Bee or Storm Bee GT — Zoom calipers and their own pad SKUs. They do not fit Talaria Sting MX4 Expert. Expert is Magura MT-5. The live Magura pad is Galfer BFD487G1652, Contact Dealer. Do not confuse BFD487 with BFD436. BFD436 is not on this catalog and is not in the sitemap. They also do not fit E-Ride Pro SS 3.0 or SR. SS 2.0 is the E-Ride that shares the Tektro-style caliper.

E-Bike $42.99 vs Pro $44.99

Both compounds drop into the same Tektro Auriga carrier. The difference is the material, not the fitment. E-Bike G1652 is the semi-metallic compound Galfer specifies for heavier e-bikes. Pro G1554 is the sintered compound. It holds up better on stacked hard stops and in mud. It is also harder on the rotor and wants a longer bedding pass.

For a trail Light Bee X that just needs more than the stock organic Tektro pad, E-Bike at $42.99 per caliper is the live SKU to start with. If you already glaze OEM pads on repeated downhill runs, Pro at $44.99 per caliper is the other live option. Front plus rear is $85.98 or $89.98.

OEM Tektro pads stay on the shelf at $23.99 front and $24.99 rear. That is the stock compound, not a Galfer. Use it when you want the original feel back, or when you are replacing one caliper on a bike that still has fresh OEM on the other end.

Light Bee and Sting Tektro systems are mineral oil. Do not pour DOT 3, DOT 4, or DOT 5.1 into a Tektro Auriga. Stark Varg is the opposite setup — Brembo and DOT 5.1 — and it uses a different Galfer pad ($41.99 sintered HH). That pad is not a Light Bee part.

How to order without mixing bikes

Confirm the bike first: Light Bee X or Light Bee S, and the year if it is a 2025-or-newer X. Then pick the compound. Then decide one caliper or both. The product pages are Galfer E-Bike BFD426G1652 and Galfer Pro BFD426G1554. The hubs that list the rest of the live catalog are Sur-Ron parts, Talaria parts, and Galfer pads and rotors.

If the bike is Ultra Bee, use the $46.99 Zoom pad. If it is MX4 Expert, use Magura BFD487 — Contact Dealer. If it is Storm Bee, MX5 Pro, Komodo, or Dragon, these two Light Bee SKUs are the wrong parts list.

WiredWhips ships US-only from Utah. Shipping is $12 flat. Freight is free on orders over $199. For rotors, adapters, and the longer Galfer upgrade path, read the July 8 Galfer brake upgrade guide.
